Job Title: Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Location: Leander/ Florence
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28-$38 Per Hour (DOE)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to join our team. As a heavy equipment mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery. Additionally, you will be responsible for heavy truck repairs and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on heavy equipment to identify any issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment.
- Replace defective parts and components as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines.
- Test heavy equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, including parts used and labor hours.
- Operate heavy equipment to test repairs and ensure proper functioning.
- Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and their components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, normally Mon - Friday. Sometimes Saturday.
- Valid driver's license.
