About Our Family

We’re a professional couple with two energetic and sweet boys (ages 3.5 and 1) and a friendly but shy 5-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix with high-energy. Both parents work full time, and one travels internationally quarterly. While this role isn’t focused on childcare, we’d love someone who is kid-aware and family-oriented, and who can provide occasional backup care when needed. Your primary focus will be the home, but you’ll be an important part of our family’s daily rhythm.

We’re looking for a proactive, kind, and detail-oriented house manager to help keep our household running smoothly. You should be comfortable around young children and dogs, flexible with changing needs, and open to adjusting hours occasionally — especially during our work travel periods. Ideally, you're someone who’s looking to grow with a family, see yourself as a long-term fit, and take pride in creating a well-run, welcoming home.

Ideal Candidate Qualities

We’re looking for someone who is:

Warm, trustworthy, and easy to communicate with

Comfortable with dogs and young children

Highly organized and proactive — you notice what needs doing and take initiative

Reliable, punctual, and consistent

Comfortable working independently and asking questions as needed

Flexible with scheduling — can increase hours during travel weeks if needed and/or when children are sick.

Core Responsibilities

Household Management & Tidying

Maintain household organization systems (e.g., closets, pantry, kitchen, toy storage)

Conduct seasonal swaps of clothes, décor, and gear

Manage outdoor tidying (e.g., sweeping porch, weeding in the yard)

Keep the home tidy and organized between bi-weekly cleaning services (e.g., reset rooms, load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)

Support packing/unpacking for family travel.

Errands & Inventory Management

Grocery shopping and restocking pantry, fridge, and household supplies.

Run errands (e.g., returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping).

Manage household orders (Amazon, Target, Costco, etc.).

Prepare donations and coordinate pickups

Schedule and oversee vehicle maintenance, oil changes, and inspections

Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized

Laundry & Linens

Family laundry: wash, dry, fold, and organize (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)

Iron/steam clothing and prep outfits if needed

Rotate bedding, restock towels, and maintain laundry areas

Family Support & Childcare Assistance

Occasionally assist with school/activity pick-ups or drop-offs (can provide car and car seats)

Occasionally assist with light childcare/supervision/playtime

Weekly date night babysitting for both children (Saturday or Friday preferred)

Backup care (e.g., if a child is home sick, school closures). This would be additional pay if outside regular hours.

Pet Care

Walk the family dog

Coordinate grooming and daycare appointments

Restock pet supplies

Meal Prep

Prepare 2–3 simple, healthy dinners per week (protein, grain, vegetable)

Grocery shop for weekly meals and pantry staples

Plan meals in advance with input from the family

Clean up kitchen and prep areas after cooking

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)

Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations from storage unit, etc
