Job Summary:
The Groundman supports tree service operations by assisting tree care professionals in the field. Responsibilities include handling tools, equipment, debris, ensuring site safety, and maintaining communication with the tree crew.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on site:
o Provide necessary tools and equipment to tree climbers, and as directed by crew leader.
o Handle ropes to ensure safe lowering of branches and tree sections.
o Haul away debris, branches, and logs from the worksite. Load them into chipper or trailer.
o Ground level tree trimming, cutting, and clearing as directed.
Safety:
o Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
o Ensure the worksite is free of hazards and maintain safe working distances.
Site Cleanup & Maintenance:
o Assist with the cleanup of debris, branches, and logs from the worksite.
o Ensure that the worksite is left clean and safe after the job is completed.
Qualifications:
At least 3+ years’ experience in tree services, landscaping, or general labor is required.
Basic understanding of safety practices in the tree care industry industry.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs. or more.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
