Seeking experienced, detail-oriented, reliable and mature caregiver for 1-1 in-home care of a sweet elderly woman. Hours are 7am-7pm 2 days a week. Likely either Saturday and Sunday OR Thursday and Saturday.
Seeking a person who is already employed part-time and simply seeking to supplement their income. You would be called if one of the regular day or night caregivers needs to be out for any reason to see if you can work. We have reliable caregivers, however, sometimes caregivers need time off and we need someone to fill in particularly during the day.
Must work well independently and with the rest of the team. The woman you will be caring for is hard of hearing so you must be able to project your voice while also being respectful. You must speak English fluently.
You will be working alone during your shifts but we all work together to get household tasks completed and stay on top of her care and what’s needed at the residence. Grocery shopping is done by family but they rely on us to provide them with a complete list.
Hours are 12 hour shifts 7am-7pm Saturday and Sunday or Thursday and Saturday. We can talk about which of these 2 options works best.
Pay starts at $18/hour. Pay through Direct Deposit on a weekly basis. W-2 Employee. Direct hire, Not through an agency.
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, current car insurance, social security card. Must have a clean background. A background check will be performed and references will be checked.
Tasks you will be helping with include:
Taking blood pressure, helping with Showers , toileting and brief changes, helping her to get dressed, preparing meals/light cooking ( frozen meals available but she needs to have fresh food a few times a week), companionship, medication reminders, ensuring she gets a little exercise (walks) laundry, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning the kitchen, keeping track of grocery items needed, taking out trash, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, documenting detailed notes of work performed during each shift and communicate to the team of any changes in condition. Most of the work load is done by caregivers working during the day but night shift caregivers help with tasks too.
Client is ambulatory and is able to get up on her own but she is unsteady so requires a Walker when walking. She sometimes gets disoriented/ confused. Must provide structure as outlined so that she is active during the day and sleeps at night.
Family is in town and sometimes visits. Please have a love for caring for the elderly and a heart for being of service to others. Must have at least 2 professional and 2 personal references. Must have at least 3 years caregiving work experience. Serious inquiries only.
