Licensed Vocational Nurse Medical Surgical Unit

This position is still at the proposal stage and is awaiting award.The main purpose of a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) is to provide essential patient care and support under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. This includes administering medications, performing routine procedures, and assisting with patient assessments, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. LVNs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and military facilities, and they also play a vital role in educating patients about their health and wellness. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. Administer medications and monitor patient reactions. Perform routine procedures such as wound care, vital sign checks, and basic diagnostic tests. Assist with patient assessments and documentation of medical histories. Educate patients and their families on health management and wellness practices. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards. Ensure cleanliness and safety in the patient care environment. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
