Do you love working with children and are you looking for a fun, part-time job where you can be creative?We are seeking a fun and outgoing Art Teacher to join our team! We are a traveling art program that teaches on-site at various preschools schools in North Austin.
This is a very part-time job offering only 6-10 hours a week. Please do not apply if you're looking for more hours.Since our classes run seasonally with breaks between semesters, the art teacher role is a contract position.
We are looking for someone who can teach on Monday - Friday for 10 weeks starting on September 9th. Weekly classes are held on-site at local schools in North Austin (the schools are near Jollyville, River Place, Steiner Ranch, Lake Creek Parkway and Far West). Each day of the week will have a different location. We typically have 1-2 classes a day. Curriculum, weekly lesson plans and paid training provided.
Teachers must be able to commit to classes for a 10 week fall session starting on September 9th. We hope to find a teacher that would like to continue classes in the spring as well. Our program runs seasonally throughout the year with small breaks between each semester. Class times vary depending upon location but typically fall within 2:40 pm - 5:00 pm and repeat each week.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role offering a flexible schedule.
We will consider candidates who are only interested in teaching a few days a week.
This position is perfect for an experienced childcare professional looking for extra income that has afternoons available.
Must have a love for children and be enthusiastic, outgoing, dependable and punctual.
Background check and fingerprints required for this position.
Must have current criminal and child clearances including background checks and fingerprint scanning (through Texas HHS Dept).
Must have at least 2 years of experience working with children ages 3-6 in a preschool classroom.
Art skills and art history knowledge not required, we will train you. CPR/First aid certification a plus, however, we can schedule the class for you if needed. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the class at the end of the 10 week session.
Responsibilities:
Manage and educate up to 8 students ages 3-6 in a classroom setting
Meet with another teacher once a week to pick up art supplies for your classes
Provide reliable transportation to get to the schools
Maintain positive relationships with students and school leaders
Make sure the children have fun creating in a safe environment
Report back to administration after each class and respond promptly to texts and emails
Commit to a full semester of classes

Previous preschool teaching experience
Strong classroom management skills
Strong leadership qualities
Excellent communication skills
Job Types:

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Each class is 40 minutes long plus set up and clean up. We typically have 2 classes a day. Weekly pay would be a minimum of $232 and a maximum of $300. All classes are held in the afternoon starting at 3:30 with an arrival time of 3:15 to set up the space.
