Hiring: Educator for Private Family (Governess)

Location: Austin, Texas based, semi regular travel

Compensation: $80,000 - $150,000 DOE / full benefits / PTO

Schedule: Rotational shifts (7 day or 14 day rotation), 7am-7pm during rotations, flexibility to stay late as needed

Overview: A growing family of three who is relocating to Austin, Texas this Summer is seeking two experienced, education focused caregivers for their 1 year old son. This role involves caring for one child and helping to maintain an atmosphere of peace, inspiration, consistency and educational advancement for the child. Though not mandatory, the ideal candidate will have a background in education such as a teaching degree or similar, play the piano, be familiar with The Shichida Method, and be fluent in Italian and/or Japanese. Must be thoughtful, nurturing, and able to multitask. This is a year-round position, in a formal, fully staffed home. The parents are health focused, self made, hardworking and busy with their careers - they show respect, care and generosity towards their staff, and they deserve the absolute best in return. This is truly an amazing team, and we are looking for our perfect new additions to support the child as he grows, guide his education and development, and remain a with us for many years.

Responsibilities:

Childcare & Supervision: Provide attentive and nurturing care for one child ensuring their safety and well-being at all times

Educational Support: Create weekly lesson plans and facilitate educational activities

Household Assistance: Assist with light household tasks as needed, including dishes in the evenings on a regular basis

Communication: Effectively communicate lesson plans and status updates on the child's education, development, and any areas that you may be needing support to the Estate Manager and/or parents as needed or requested

Professionalism: Arrive each day ready to be of service, focused solely on the goal of providing a positive and harmonious experience to the child and family as a whole. Conduct yourself with care and respect to your teammates, remembering that everyone is here to help one another, and to meet the families needs in a cohesive and thoughtful manner.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience working in a Nanny or Au Pair role for at least 2 years

Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities, patience and capacity to manage multiple schedules and needs

Background: A university curriculum focus in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Development or Education (highly preferred, though not mandatory)

Fluent in Italian and/or Japanese (highly preferred, though not mandatory)

Flexibility: Must be highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to changing schedules and responsibilities, including travel

Travel Ready: Willingness to travel with the family as needed for vacations, events, or other personal trips as needed

CPR and First Aid Certification

Must be energetic and enjoy outside education

Allergy to smoking - smokers may not apply including vaping

Documents: Valid drivers license and passport, or the ability to get them

Background: Provide at least 3 references, and pass a background check
