Manager Patient Logistics CenterJob SummaryLeadership and management of a Clinical and Behavioral Health Transfer Center Staff and program management. Average number of assigned staff is 50-80. Responsible for the daily operations of the PLC including all direct/indirect transfer center issues.Work Location : Arlington, TX.Job DutiesAccomplishes department objectives by managing PLC staff by planning and evaluating department activities.Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, and training employees.Plans and organizes tasks and duties.Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees.Develops, coordinates, monitors, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information to improve transfer center efficiency.Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes to transfer data.Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements for staffing, assists with annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending system improvements.Contributes to improve quality and usefulness of reports on PLC patterns at entities by working with internal and external leadersContributes to the development and optimization of key THR analytic tools and processes.Monitors PLC staff and collaborates with central bed placement and staffing manager to ensure effective bed movement and throughput in CC1Conducts transfer center audits to ensure the right patient, the right bed, right doctor, at the right level of careResponsible for patient safety and risk management of the department, e.g., identifies high-risk situations and initiates the problem-solving process with the involvement of the team and other necessary stakeholdersEffectively and continually communicates with Executive leader, staff, and customers to facilitate bi-directional information necessary to the success of the employees, department, and the organization.Complete initial review of service inquiries and communicates results with director; provides timely, consistent follow-up to all customers.Manage and maintain a strong working relationship between the Transfer Center and all participating entities.Collaborates with other leaders and caregivers to plan, monitor, implement and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of patient transfersFacilitates clinical capabilities of the Transfer Center as it pertains to patient movement in between entitiesResponsible for the daily operations of the PLC including all direct/indirect transfer center issues.Maintains a safe work environment and an environment promoting patient safety.Holds staff accountable for patient safety, clinical and professional performance standards and adherence to regulatory requirements.Provides positive feedback, coaching and corrective actions evident to support accountability for performance; Use of Applause system/thank you notes evident to support accomplishments toward departmental and organizational goals.Works within PLC budget for financial sustainability improve efficienciesParticipates in quality initiatives congruent with department, THR/PLC goals/strategies; works with service lines on entity and system initiatives; supports adoption or development of evidence-based best practices.Collects and analyzes data for reporting of trends, intervention and/or celebration of successes.Reports critical and ongoing improvement outcomes and trends to QI, Employee Health, HR, leadership, etc. Promotes involvement in community initiatives.Manages event reporting for all staff within cohort.
