Electrical Design EngineerDescription:System design duties include the skills and experience for control system design fromstart to end to include:
Work with sales and potential customers to describe control systems in writing
Create proposal for sales personnel to accurately describe and cost control systems
Responsible for the design (per specifications) of the system hardware using AutoCAD
to create panel layouts, single line drawings, and selecting hardware per specifications
Create a bill of material for hardware
Obtain quotes to fabricate control panels per specifications
Write the FDS (functional design specification) describing the control system
functionality in detail
Use the FDS to write the PLC and MMI programs
Check hardware functionality per specification
Check (and simulate if possible) software functionality per the FDS prior to shipping (is
possible)
Write and conduct FAT or SAT’s as required
Travel to jobsite as required to assist in the checkout and startup of control systems
Skills:panel layouts, AutoCAD, single line drawings, FDS, plc programming, MMI, NFPA codes, AutoCAD electrical, Controls design, Control panel, Schematic, Electrical design, Electrical engineeringAdditional Skills & Qualifications:CONTROL SYSTEM DESIGN DUTIES (REQUIRED). Be able to describe in writing (control system proposal) a system offering based oncontrols offerings and the customer specifications and requirements. Create timelines describing control system landmark points (Drawings ready forsubmittal, hardware and software completion dates, etc.). FDS Creation (functional design specification). Able to have technical meetingsand conversations with sales and customer personnel and derive from this awritten detailed design document describing the operation of a control system Travel for startup assistance to customer site for control systems supplied. Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000 programming experience. Allen Bradley Factory Talk View programming experience. AutoCAD experience. Controls design experience. Hardware selection, panel layouts, creation of bill ofmaterial. Familiarity with NFPA Electrical Codes, standards and industry practices.
