Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Facility Transformation. This role will be located at either our Syracuse, NY or Amarillo, TX facilities. Relocation is provided for this role within the United States.The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Reporting to the Crouse-Hinds Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the execution of all assigned Crouse-Hinds capital-intensive projects pertaining to engineering, procurement, and construction.In this role you will:
Lead the justification, management & implementation of multiple capital projects tied to the Syracuse or Amarillo manufacturing plant
Investigate and solve problems in manufacturing process change and ramp-up; perform manufacturing method studies to determine optimum process and methods
Evaluate and recommend best solutions to given problems weighing economic return and compatibility with layout of plant facilities
Partner with site leadership team to minimize impact while maximizing results
Identify new equipment and manufacturing technologies to make recommendations regarding equipment, plant changes in manufacturing facilities, and material flow
Use lean and statistical tools, approaches, and techniques to create process management and measurement systems and develop a continuous improvement mindset
Develop operational procedures such as standard work
Design manufacturing fixtures and specify tooling necessary to implement processes and methods
Implement cost reduction projects for methods, processes, and materials on current manufactured products
Align local quality efforts with divisional leadership to drive an effective quality assurance and improvement strategy
Coordinate external facility contract services and ensure contractor compliance while also adhering to Federal, State, and Eaton EH&S standards
Collaborates with GEIS functional leaders to support the development of all assigned project submittal documentation, including Scope of Work (SOW), Drawing Packages, Schedules, and other requisite documentation
Utilizes the Management of Change (MOC) process to prepare, distribute, and implement project safety plans
Responsible for adhering to the financial performance of all assigned projects, inclusive cash flow, budget and timing.
Qualifications:Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an engineering role supporting a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of three (3) years of continuous improvement experience.
Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with AutoCAD.
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering
Prior experience working within a foundry.
Experience writing capital appropriation narratives and executive presentations.
Experience within a union environment.
