Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. This role will focus on preparing and filing tax returns for businesses, trusts, and estates within our portfolio, ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience handling multi-entity tax filings, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of tax laws related to oil and gas, estates, and various corporate structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for multiple business entities, trusts, and estates
Analyze financial statements to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance
Research complex tax issues, including those related to oil and gas holdings, estate taxation, and business operations
Stay up to date with tax law changes that impact corporate and estate filings
Work closely with attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to develop tax strategies
Maintain organized tax records and documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews
Provide tax-related guidance to company leadership and stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of tax preparation (required) and 5+ years of related work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or tax compliance
Industry Knowledge: Experience with oil and gas taxation, estates, or multi-entity corporate structures is a plus
Software Proficiency: QuickBooks (1+ years) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and optimize tax efficiency
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of tax compliance, deductions, and multi-entity financial reporting
Communication Skills: Ability to explain tax regulations and strategies clearly to internal stakeholders
