Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Department personnel provide support services to the production floor. This support includes routinely going around to the departments to review job orders staged for shipping as well as to determine the impact for orders in process. Shipping Department personnel are expected to process orders (weigh, scan, and print labels) as well as communicate issues specific to customer expectations associated with the desired receipt of goods. The goal is to resolve issues in real time while moving the finished goods from production through the shipping process in a seamless manner. The daily routine will require the candidate to be on their feet nearly 100% of the time and includes walking, standing, reaching, lifting, stooping or bending.Duties and responsibilitiesPositive interaction with the Department Foreman and material handlers to ensure the timely processing of orders dailyProcessing of ordersRoutinely go to each department and pull completed orders to the shipping departmentResolves delivery date or shipping method issues by notifying Area Manager or by contacting Insides Sales, Customer Service, Production Coordinator, or vendor as appropriate.Trains support staff on the dashboard tool and sets standards for when elevated costs are acceptable in order to meet delivery expectationsCoordinate, monitor, and improve packaging techniques across all departmentsProvides end of the line process support to include material staging for final packagingProvides subassembly support, bagging, and packaging as requiredAll other duties as assignedQualificationsBasic shop math skillsAbility to read and understand the Job order detailsAbility to prioritize and execute daily work assignmentsUnderstanding of overall customer satisfaction expectations specific to on-time-delivery (OTD)Ability to create a team-based environmentAbility to use all computer-generated shipping toolsWillingness to provide a flexible work scheduleAble to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. routinely
