Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to provide ownership and expert knowledge of the various control systems used by the Gas fleet and associated equipment at TVA’s sites. With a detailed knowledge of these controls and how they interface with the installed equipment, this position will ensure overall standardized approach to controls reliability and cybersecurity architecture protection schemes to ensure compliance with NERC regulatory requirements. Supervisory Responsibility Provide oversight to contractors and vendors while possessing the ability to work as team member and influence outcomes regarding regulatory requirements. Principal Accountabilities

Responsible for performance of site controls, and compliance with controls regulation. (Such as NERC, Cybersecurity, etc.)

Approve contractor work, including acceptance of work and authorizing payment.

Participate in assessments on site personnel based on Human Performance activities during critical control systems actions/modifications. Assessments are used during employee ratings/discipline actions.

Develop portions of the plants budgeting for any controls related maintenance and capital budget projects.

Develop and implement policies and procedure that ensure compliance with NERC, Cybersecurity, and other areas.

Evaluate vendors and select contractors to perform work on the plant site and remotely.

Serve as manager during the absence of Site, Operations, or Maintenance manager.

Responsible for training of contractors on ammonia, clearance, site access, HU tools, etc.

Provide expertise in the area of control system maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability.

Design and implement changes to control arrangements to improve system function, reliability and ease of operator interface.

Provide formal and informal training as required to familiarize others with the installed control equipment.

Use initiative to identify areas of controls- related improvements.

Understand the correlation between control function and equipment action to determine cause and effect.

Assist the Gas sites in performing Root Cause and Prevent Recurrence Analyses on equipment failures.

Lead or assist in the development of controls-related projects to improve system performance and reliability.

Assist the site Technical Support Manager and Engineering staff in implementing system-wide procedures, modifications and best practices with an emphasis in the controls arena with respect to Reliability and Cyber Security impacts.

Minimum Requirements:

Education. – B.S. degree in Engineering, related field or equivalent experience.

Experience. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering functions providing design, operation, and maintenance support of power generating facilities and/or industrial facilities and control systems. Experience with HMI and historians desirables. Must possess knowledge of TVA Gas Operations electrical and digital control systems, Cyber Security regulations, reliability standards and engineering processes associated with the design, maintenance, modification and configuration management of these systems.

Certification/License, etc— NERC Training and Operation Certification desirable, Certified Information Systems Security Professional desirable

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities— Knowledge of industry practices, and technical standards related to the design, operation, and maintenance of NERC/CIP programs and engineering technical programs with respect to requirements and implementation strategies. Must possess knowledge of computer software, computer hardware, communication systems, and associated engineering practices utilized in programs and regulatory FISMA & CIP areas. Demonstrated ability to interpret policy matters, develop business cases, and communicate effectively with all levels of management. Demonstrated managerial competencies such as leadership, delegation, analysis, teamwork, planning, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to identify, justify, organize, and implement large-scale projects. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
