Joslin and Son Signs is a 47 year old sign company located in downtown Nashville. We design, permit, manufacture, install and service custom signs. We have 30 employees and are excited to fill this estimator position. The position of estimator is responsible for preparing or coordinating the preparation of full estimates for opportunities. The position will provide accurate cost analysis under specific deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Creating job estimates
Read plans and surveys
Work one-on-one with sales to gather scope of work
Provide costing and or budget for prepared estimates
Request sub-contractors quotes when applicable
Request vendor quotes when applicable
Submit final estimate to supervisor and/or sales
Prepare all revisions for jobs
Master and familiarize all sign types
Analyze blue prints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare cost and labor estimates
Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized estimates
Work with management to ensure reasonable and competitive quotes are given on a timely basis
Review estimates with the Production Department on a regular basis to ensure accurate analysis of cost of materials and labor
Maintain current knowledge of materials and labor costs and manufacturing methods
Prepare estimates for selecting vendors and subcontractors and determine cost effectiveness
Requirements:
Experience with costing, estimating, sales
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
