We are seeking a live-in caregiver for my mom as she recovers from a severe illness. The position will be short term, 6-8 weeks is predicted but a longer recovery is possible, so may be 8-10 weeks. She needs assistance with personal care, wound care, transfers, hygiene care, all directed by home health nurse. Also helping with light housekeeping, her laundry and some meal prep. This position would be ideal for a student or someone with a side gig, as there will be a lot of down time. She needs help the most in the morning and at bedtime with shorter bursts of time in between. The schedule is flexible and will work best with someone who is flexible with their time. We will work with you if you can work with us! We will provide a private room and board as well as a monthly stipend. Who you would be living with and some things to note: my wife and I are creative people who run our business from home. I am a musician and singer/songwriter, my wife is also a singer and musician and dancer. We are gay, liberal, millennials. My mom is in her early 70's and was a clinical lead social worker who was still working and living a vibrant life just a few months ago before her illness. Our goal is to fill her life with a lot of positive vibes as we work on her rehab at home. We will be handling her physical therapy. She will also have home care. We are all late night owls and there are two dogs in the house so it is not a quiet home. We will want our privacy and will respect your privacy as well. None of us are smokers and we are allergic to smoke and pot so that would be a no. Your room will have a desk, bed, dresser and some closet space as well as a TV unless you already have one you want to bring. We will provide free wifi, all your food, utilities and streaming access if you need it.
