Pizza Loves Emily / Emmy Squared Pizza, headquartered in Nashville, is seeking an Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team . Pizza Loves Emily is a growing restaurant company that offers advancement opportunities, a fun work environment with casual dress, supportive leadership, competitive pay, full health benefits and of course, craveable pizza and burgers!The Staff Accountant role reports to the Controller and the Chief Financial Officer. The position will monitor and review restaurant accounting activities including account reconciliations, accruals, and month end journals for assigned restaurants. Staff Accountant Primary Responsibilities:
Complete general ledger reconciliations, focusing on balance sheet.
Income statement variance analysis.
Review and approve invoices for assigned restaurants.
Complete the bank, credit card and tax reconciliations properly and timely for assigned restaurants.
Work closely with restaurant management to accrue expenses and recoand account reconciliations.
Assist with month end close responsibilities, ensuring a timely month end / period end close
Prepare and review journal entries.
Maintain financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements.
Compile, analyze, interpret, and present financial information.
Coordinate and resolve accounting issues.
Work closely with management to identify process improvement needs and take a leadership role in implementing recommendations.
Support the management financial reporting process.
Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
College degree preferred, preferable in Accounting or Finance.
1+ years accounting experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified.
Candidate must be a deadline focused, organized, detail oriented, self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Advanced Excel skills and strong overall PC proficiency are a must.
Restaurant/Hospitality preferred; knowledge of other applications software (Restaurant 365, POS systems) a strong plus.
Must be service and detail oriented, possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and provide follow up in a fast-paced environment.
