Primary Role: Maintain clean buildings and grounds, particularly all common public spaces, and set-up spaces for meetings, worship services and special events at the supervision of the Facilities Manager and based on event set-up forms and the parish life calendar.
Secondary Role: Collaborate with the Facilities Manager, Director of Finance & Operations, Junior Warden, Congregational Life Associate/Assistant to the Rector, and others on projects when able.
Minimum Requirements
Three years of professional cleaning experience including commercial kitchens and public spaces.
Self-starter with sound work ethic; maintains attention to detail; punctual for work duties.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative based on primary role and requests.
Able to easily lift tables, chairs, and certain furniture to set-up spaces for events.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Occasional scheduling flexibility for special events.
Ability to assist with facilities projects, repairs, and occasional ladder work.
Computer usage proficiency especially with Microsoft Office preferred.
Eligible for employment in the United States and based on positive background check.
General Responsibilities
Set up tables, chairs, and other furnishings for use based on weekly and occasional events outlined on the parish calendar of events (Facilities Scheduler) and event set-up forms.
Attend to kitchen and fellowship hall cleaning and resetting - sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, dish washing, disposal of garbage, resetting/storing tables and chairs.
General and detailed cleaning and straightening of interior worship spaces, classrooms, and public spaces and certain aspects of exterior grounds appearance.
Maintain bulbs for lamps and overhead lighting,
Preferred: Assist Facilities Manager with cleaning supply inventory/ordering; contacting vendors to maintain kitchen equipment; setup of screen and projector for computer presentations; minor repair of worship space fixtures and furnishings; occasional painting and touching up of finishes and surfaces; and change-out of exterior signage in metal frames.
Other occasional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
