Senior Analyst, Global Trade Sanctions & Export Controls Center of Excellence - Open to Remote in USCareers that Change Lives   A Day in the Life   Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. 

Ability to interpret BIS, OFAC and other government sanctions.

Communicate complex sanctions language in a simplified manner to internal stakeholders.

Implement BIS and OFAC sanctions, as well sanctions imposed by other government bodies, using SAP GTS and other available technology platforms.

Review escalations for blocked orders or issues related to shipments moving under export licenses. Partner with internal stakeholders to reach a timely and compliant resolution.

Create procedures based on successful resolution of escalations.

Audit pre and post license activation data to ensure correct materials, quantities, values, business partners and other elements are activated as per export license authorization.

Audit materials sold in restricted markets to ensure sanctions compliance.

Conduct first-line audit of sanctioned country sales order releases to ensure compliance with Medtronic procedures.

Conduct audit of additional activities in sanctioned markets using mass data in Excel file.

Review escalations related to failed restricted parties screening.

Strong working knowledge of researching customers, suppliers, vendors, financial institutions, and individuals related to failed screening.

Conduct enhanced due diligence, complex ownership traceability and investigations of parties tied failed screening, and ability to make recommendations based on imperfect information.

Strong problem-solving skills. Team player attitude, ability to work in a diverse global work environment. 

Consistent positive attitude with ability to positively influence others.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required

Minimum of 4 years of relevant trade experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant trade experience

Nice to Have

Implementation of Trade sanctions using SAP system, or other controls to restrict or permit transactions

Knowledge of sales order processing in SAP

Intermediate Excel skills

Export Compliance Specialist certification 

Understanding of HS codes, ECCN and how those are utilized to levy sanctions by US and other Western allies.  

Understanding of end-to-end logistics process, including modes of transport, trade documents, EEI filing.  

Ability to research 15 CFR
