Description Robert Half is partnering with one of the area's most prestigious companies in their search for an Inventory Control Specialist to join their growing team:Key Aspects of the Role:

Spearhead the development of a cutting-edge system to address obsolete and slow-moving inventory, breathing new life into our supply chain.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to revolutionize our inventory systems, ensuring they align with our commitment to quality, food safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Conduct thorough assessments and audits of critical inventory systems, driving continuous improvement.

Lead the charge in maintaining the success of our cycle count program, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Navigate SAP with finesse, making real-time adjustments and updates to keep our systems agile and responsive.

Champion the management of virtual inventory locations, strategically adjusting and collaborating with department managers.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust quality hold process, ensuring periodic reviews keep us at the forefront of quality standards.

Collaborate with department managers to uphold warehouse standards, enhancing accuracy, usage, and layout.

Set and uphold financial standards, tracking, analyzing, and monitoring activities against production needs and budget parameters.

Standardize and report key metrics around the inventory process, providing valuable insights.

Dive into special projects and assignments that keep the role exciting and dynamic.

Additional Responsibilities:

Foster continuous contact with employees, ensuring understanding of job assignments and swift problem resolution.

Lead training initiatives in material handling techniques and warehouse/inventory management systems.

Utilize various techniques, from coaching to positive recognition, to inspire employees to achieve outstanding results.

Navigate collective bargaining agreements (union-organized plant) and/or employee handbooks.

Collaborate with Plant Human Resources Manager and Department Managers to resolve challenges and implement innovative Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures.

Embrace diverse tasks and responsibilities, ensuring every day brings a new and exciting challenge.

Education:

Pursue a 4-year college degree, preferably in Production Management, Business Administration, or related fields of study. APICS certification is a welcome advantage.

Alternatively, showcase your equivalent high school diploma combined with a wealth of related experience.

Experience:

Bring 4 – 8 years of enriching experience in the food supply chain, demonstrating strength in inventory management.

Other Key Needed Traits:

Strong computer skills, with advanced abilities in Excel and SAP or other ERP knowledge needed

Demonstrated High level of expertise and knowledge of end-to-end food business supply chain/operations preferred

High level of expertise in manufacturing and inventory systems

Requirements Annual Inventory, Annual Physical Inventories, Annual Physical Inventory, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Food production, Food safety, Food production, SAP, Microsoft Excel
