Job Title: Forklift MechanicJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic who can diagnose and repair equipment problems, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure the proper functioning of forklifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for recommending and executing the correct service and repair actions to maintain equipment performance, documenting service calls, and observing all safety procedures.Responsibilities
Diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns.
Recommend appropriate service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance issues.
Make necessary equipment repairs or modifications based on analysis.
Perform scheduled equipment maintenance following company procedures and policies.
Document each service call and provide necessary paperwork.
Observe all safety procedures and ensure hazardous waste is properly disposed of.
Maintain company service vehicles in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free manner, including regular maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
Secure and maintain service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle.
Provide well-maintained personal tools required for effective equipment service.
Essential Skills
Diagnosis of equipment issues.
Forklift repair and service.
Relay and circuit testing.
Preventative and reactive maintenance on electric forklifts using electrical diagnostic instruments and schematics.
Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electric forklifts.
Handling liquid propane forklifts.
Reading schematics diagrams.
Use of electrical diagnostic instruments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
Experience repairing forklifts.
Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Above average communication skills.
Ability to understand service and training manuals, interpret schematics, and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments.
Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.
