Pemberton Truck Lines, Inc., a family owned and operated trucking company in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Dependable Full Time Building and Grounds Maintenance Tech.

Ideal candidate will be well-rounded in carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work and grounds maintenance.

This position also includes the responsibility for detailing our trucks before they are assigned to the next driver.

Attitude, work ethic and dependability are the most important qualities for this position.

A valid TN drivers license and clean driving record is required as you will be driving company vehicles on a nearly daily basis.

Veterans are encouraged to apply and will receive special preference as we are a shop made mostly of Veterans (1 Coast Guard, 1 Army, 2 Navy).

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday (up to 42 hours/week) but there is the opportunity to work some Saturdays and make some additional overtime.

All hired employees go through a 90 days probationary period. The ability to get along with the other members of the team is one of the most important qualities we are looking for.

11. maintain inspection tools or equipment

12. read blueprints

13. repair cracks, defects, or damage in installed building materials

14. use building materials for routine building maintenance

15. use turnbuckle in structural repair or assembly work

16. verify levelness or verticality, using level or plumb bob

17. install doors, wood floors, window frames, trim, or stairs

18. estimate costs of design materials or construction

19. lay or install brick, block, stone, tile, or related masonry material

20. repair or replace damaged bricks, tile, or related masonry

21. paint walls or other structural surfaces

22. prepare building surfaces for paint, finishes, wallpaper, or adhesives

23. use basic carpentry techniques

24. use hand or power woodworking tools

25. determine what additional materials to order

26. assess vehicle damage

27. climb ladders, scaffolding, or utility or telephone poles

28. follow safe waste disposal procedures

29. move or lift heavy objects

30. plan or organize work

31. read technical drawings

32. understand technical operating, service or repair manuals

33. use knowledge of metric system

35. test mechanical products or equipment
