DO YOU ENJOY TINKERING AND REPAIRING THINGS THAT MOST WOULD GIVE UP ON? Part-time repair apprentice needed for Knoxville's premier lamp and shade store. Candidates MUST APPLY IN PERSON at our location, Calloway's Lamp & Shade, 5714 KINGSTON PIKE, between 10-5:30 M-F.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with lighting repair and restoration projects. Will include rewiring lamps, chandeliers and other fixtures; replacing sockets, cords and other components; restoring finishes and miscellaneous maintenance.
- Occasionally assist customers and staff with parts purchases and recommendations.
LONG TERM ADVANCED JOB FUNCTIONS (potential full time)
-Soldering and Brazing. Painting to include an array of faux finishes. Miscellaneous woodworking. Drilling porcelain, glass, and other delicate materials. Metal fabrication.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to focus intensively for long periods.
2. High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Proficiency with basic hand tools – screwdrivers, drills, wire cutters, etc.
4. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
5. High level of comfort handling fragile and delicate items.
6. Must have a reliable vehicle for running various errands.
