Position Summary:
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all outbound shipping functions within the warehouse. This includes supervising daily shipping operations, managing shipping personnel, and ensuring accurate, timely, and safe loading of outbound deliveries. The role also involves hands-on support with equipment, process compliance, and customer-focused execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the loading of trucks, ensuring order accuracy, quality control, and adherence to food safety standards.
Ensure all trucks are backed into docks safely and correctly; must be capable of backing trucks and training others to do so, if necessary.
Direct forklift operators in proper loading procedures and placement of temperature recorders as needed.
Oversee storage and movement of packed produce to designated staging or shipping areas.
Prepare accurate documentation for sales and billing (BOLs).
Perform end-of-day close-down procedures, ensuring all outbound product has been loaded, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness for the next shift.
Ensure compliance with all company regulations and food safety protocols, including HACCP.
Participate in cross-departmental support and assist other teams or locations as needed.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and performance within the shipping department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises and provides direction to the warehouse shipping crew.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift certification
Ability to safely maneuver large vehicles around lot and into docks
Basic computer software
Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow and give clear instructions.
Organization: Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure.
Reasoning: Ability to troubleshoot on-the-fly and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift/move up to 55 lbs.
Regular exposure to coolers, dock areas, and equipment.
Close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a warehouse/packinghouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, industrial equipment, forklifts, and moderate to loud noise levels.
