This individual will be responsible for raw material through finished goods of a product platform and will be expected to drive results in EHS, Quality, Service, and Cost performance within the assigned products. Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Continuous Improvement projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, tier reviews, kaizens, etc.
Development and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Continuous Improvement tools
Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel
Engagement and involvement in daily operations to meet service targets, including direction/support of maintenance and division engineering activities
Realize growth opportunities by guiding new product introduction efforts and completing experimental runs
Representing 3M Knoxville during internal and external customer interactions and audits
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) year of combined engineering and/or manufacturing experience (internship/co-op experience applies) in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Cross functional team contributions and leadership skills
Experience with leading DMAIC Six Sigma projects – Green Belt or Black Belt Certified
Experience with developing and implementing Lean Systems and Standard Work
2+ years Engineering or Manufacturing experience
Solid analytical and statistical skills
Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written & oral
