Actalent Engineering is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Designer for a client in Knoxville, TN that is a global market leader in energy from waste and renewable gas applications.As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects. Your expertise in E&IC design , P&IDs, and CAD software will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects.Job Description
Ability to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design – feasibility through construction support.
Day to day design and preparation of electrical deliverables to achieve efficient facility design considering constructability, safety and cost
Equipment general arrangements, one lines, schematics, plans (grounding, lighting, cable tray, power, instrument), wiring diagrams, installation details etc.
Prepare bills of materials and quantity take offs
Detailed understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another.
Data management (e.g. vendor data, client data) through the project life cycle.
Meeting with clients for project kickoff, ongoing design review, and project close out.
Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations.
Creating, updating, and implementing group specific standards
Assist with preparation of project specification and contract documents
Applies strong knowledge of industry standards, guides, specifications, and procedures specific to working in with US electrical and instrument infrastructure and networks at industrial facilities
Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work
Qualifications
3+ Years of Electrical Design Experience
Relevant Experience would be plant/equipment layout, instrumentation & piping diagrams etc
Knowledge & Experience with P&ID's
Design experience with DCS, PLC's, HMI/MMI's, SCADA, programming, control and systems design
COMOS software is a plus
NEC codes and standards
