The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Machine Tool Technology Associate Instructor for the Dickson Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate Degree preferred. A comparable combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in the Machine Tool field within the last five (5)

years.

Must possess NIMS certifications or the ability to become certified within 12 calendar months.

Must possess computer

skills.

Strong hands-on technical background in field of

instruction.

Proficient in the use of conventional machines such as vertical milling machines, manual lathes, CNC machines, and also Haas program lathes and milling machines and EDM machines.

Must possess a high degree of knowledge in the following areas: blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math.

SKILLS

Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and interact with high school and adult students.

Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable

personality.

Must be willing to remain current in the instructional field and maintain personal certifications and program

accreditation(s).

Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a

plus.

Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.

GENERAL DUTIES: The Machine Tool Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for providing in-person individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field. Areas of instruction include blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, CAD, safety, basic metallurgy, etc. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the colleges student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation;
