Company.Responsible for planning and
conducting programs to educate patients about nutrition and administering
medical nutrition therapy. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conducts anutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from patient.
Consults withphysician and other health care personnel to determine patient's nutritionalneeds and diet restrictions.
Planstherapeutic diets and implements preparation and service of meals for patientsin hospital, clinic, or other healthcare facility. Instructs patients about themeal plan and dietary changes, and establishes goals and objectives to helpmeet the plan.
Evaluatesnutritional care and provides follow-up continuity of care. Documents nutritioncare plans.
Inspectsmeals served for conformance to prescribed diets. Instructs patients and theirfamilies in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, andpreparation.
Educatesstaff on nutrition and diet therapy.
Requires a BA/BS degree
3 years related experience (or degree with internship opportunities in lieu of experience)
Registered dietitian required.
