We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe role of the Quality Manager is to Implement and maintain an effective hospital-wide program for surveillance, prevention, and control of infections.What you will do in this role:

You will demonstrate effective response to staff/patient crises situations.

You will identify high risk areas of the hospital and develop a plan for reducing the risks to patients.

You will counsel employees who have blood and body fluid exposures.

You will oversee compliance with the TB Plan, Bloodborne Exposure control plan, Infection Control Plan.

You will coordinate infection control surveillance activities hospital wide.

Your role implements and maintains a recording and reporting system of nosocomial infections.

Your role provides consultation and recommendations for infection control practices hospital-wide.

You will develop or assist with educational programs for all staff relevant to infection control.

You will assure appropriate authorities (physicians, public health dept., etc.) are notified of all reportable communicable diseases.

You will implement environmental inspection and maintains written summary of observations.

Your role identifies and investigates infection clusters and/or unusual pathogens.

You will identify outbreaks of infections and initiates appropriate control measures.

Your role analyzes risk factors associated with the development and spread of infections or disease.

You will perform special studies related to infection control under the direction of the department director or committee chairman.

You will provide feedback to selected groups of physicians, nurses, and support staff about the nosocomial infection rate of their patient.

You will participate in the development and implementation of patient care and ancillary departments infection control procedures.

You will perform review and/or revision of infection control policies and procedures as necessary and no less than every year.

You will participate in assigned committees related to Infection Control.

Your role performs statistical analysis on nosocomial data and reports results to appropriate committees and departments.

You will coordinate Infection Control Committee case review and assure required committee follow up is conducted.

You will stay abreast of new techniques, medications, treatments, procedures, and products in order to evaluate appropriateness of use in patient care.

Your role maintains resource library of standards, legislation, text and journals related to infection control.

You will implement appropriate use of universal precautions and isolation policy.

You will demonstrate or be able to verbalize role in emergency procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

Associate’s degree in nursing is required, bachelor’s degree is preferred, from an accredited school of nursing

Current Tennessee RN license

2 years of clinical experience required

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
