Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate mills, lathes, and grinder machines while adhering to safety and quality assurance procedures. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities
Operate mills, lathes, and grinder machines.
Load or feed mechanisms by lifting stock into position.
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
Maintain specifications by observing machine operation processes and adhering to quality assurance procedures.
Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work shifts.
Complete production and quality logs as directed.
Cross-train and work in other departments as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience with machine operation, including CNC machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficiency with hand tools and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of mechanical and production processes.
General labor experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to run a machine independently and work in a team environment.
Willingness to learn all roles within the machine shop and work in any department as needed.
Flexibility to work on any shift for first 720 hours (roughly 3.5 months).

It is a union facility that requires flexibility to work on all shifts, with the current need primarily for the second and third shifts. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and ear and eye protection.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Chattanooga, TN.Pay: $18/hr for first 720 hrs, then it goes to $27/hr!OT Pay: 1.5x pay for anything over 40 hrs in a week, 1.5x pay for any hours worked on Saturdays, 2x pay for any hours worked on Sundays.Shift: train on 1st shift, then must be flexible to work any shift as needed for the first 720 hours, then it will likely be either 2nd or 3rd shift from that point on.Schedule: Monday-Friday with OT on weekends as needed.
