DescriptionThe Business Analyst works closely with the user community to identify and document business requirements. The business analyst will also participate in the quality assurance process to ensure quality product deliverables and that requirements are met. This role collaborates with stakeholders to synthesize, articulate, and document business process, outcomes, and test scenarios by applying system and analytical thinking discipline. This role requires the ability to work with cross-functional teams, interpret business needs or objectives and translate them into process and system requirements. The individual writes business specifications and detailed test cases and coordinates with technical staff for system development, acting as the conduit between user groups and an IT development team. This position will be part of the Information Technology team.Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Assess business requirements and develop an understanding of business processes through interviews, workshops, or observation

Document requirements using Agile practices, Requirements Traceability Matrix or similar standard tool(s)

Document process design and mapping, including business rules and process flow impact including modeling skills

Use analytical thinking to improve or design new business processes; provides expertise in the modeling/mapping of such processes using Visio or similar tools

Develop test scenarios and cases for use in system solutions and integration testing

Author test plans, create and execute test cases

Participates in or conducts end user training, including development of user guides and reference materials

Partner with the Project Manager and the business community to ensure project deliverables are met, communicate regular status updates, and actively assist in issue resolution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or relevant work experience

4+ years’ work experience in a Business Analyst or Quality Assurance role

Experienced with professional BA standards and software development lifecycle, e.g., Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and/or PMI Requirements Management Practice Guide

PMI-PBA Certification preferred

Preference for work experience in sales/marketing/service environment delivering mobile applications, learning management system or retail/commerce platforms

Familiar with Agile principles and working with a development team
