General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Nebulizers/inhalers, volurex, oxygen therapy/titration, protocols, airway clearance, trach changes, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, overnight oximetry.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
One Chart, Accudose medication dispensing system, Avea Ventilators, Hamilton Ventilators, V-60 BiPAP, SiPAP, Oscillator 3100A & B, Jet Vent, metaneb, Aerogen,
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years experience, Adult, Pediatric and/or Neonatal critical care is a plus.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
RRT & BLS
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
The employee will never work alone. It will be every other weekend (or more if preferred), Three 12-hour shifts per week (overtime may be available), No call required. It will be rotating day/night shifts. Most shifts will be day shift. Managers may request employee to work an occasional night shift.
Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
We prefer someone who is able to work in one critical care area. RT's work in all all areas of the hospital including ER, critical care and general nursing floors.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
