Working hours for this position would be Monday-Thursday from 6:00am-4:30pm.    The manufacturing facility located in Sioux Falls, SD will support the billboard and fuel light niches within the Commercial market. The factory will be responsible for the timely and quality production of digital billboards fuel lights displays and additional products as business needs demand. Inventory receives, stores, and distributes most of the items purchased by Daktronics and many of the make-for stock items manufactured in the plant. Parts and assemblies are pulled, packaged, and delivered to the manufacturing floor for assembly or shipping by the people working in the Inventory area. Most of the items pulled for the department are done by work order picklists.

Learn Daktronics products systems processes and flow through Daktronics.  

Must learn and be able to train employees in all Inventory tasks including receiving parts, verifying delivery quantities, problem solving issues, and other standard tasks/procedures.   

Safely and responsibly use tools and safe lifting practices.  

Move material as needed with pallet jack.  

Correctly follow written instructions. Accurately record work done.  

Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner including repetitive tasks. Quickly learn new tasks and accurately perform these tasks as assigned.  

Work effectively as a team member and provide assistance to others when needed.   

Ability to work with minimal supervision.  

Must be flexible and have the ability to work in all areas of the factory, wherever and whenever needed.   

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.   

Make suggestions for process and product improvement.   

Communicate effectively with team members and others.   

Maintain an acceptable attendance record and work additional hours when workload justifies.     

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead and as needed to meet customer and department expectations. 

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Prefer post high school training.  

Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory, or materials management preferred. The understanding of materials flow in a manufacturing environment also preferred.  

Prefer APICs certification and/or coursework.  

Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.  

Ability to learn quickly.  

Ability to work with minimum supervision.  

Ability to prioritize work according to needs.  

Strong computer and keyboard skills required. Prefer experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and/or Glovia ERP system.  

Demonstrate ability to provide accuracy with numbers.  

Good communication skills.   

Physical requirements include the ability to:  

Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.  

Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.  

Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.  

Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.  

Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.  

Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.  

Identify wire and paint colors.  

Read fine print. 

Ability to work overtime including weekend shifts when workload requires.  

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.  

Fluent in English, written and verbal.  

Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor Vehicle records will be checked.
