Job Summary
The Imaging Navigator will serve as a patient liaison to help patients and family members “navigate” the complex healthcare systems from time of suspicious lesion to diagnosis. The person in this position will work with a multidisciplinary team providing improved comprehensive breast health services to patients. This position requires expertise to identify and implement improvement processes, and the ability to coordinate and effectively communicate breast care for our customers. Internal and external contacts include nursing staff and management, physicians, patients, families, community agencies, and professional peers. Works cooperatively in conjunction with all breast program staff and physicians, assisting with procedures and other navigator tasks and refers to the Breast Health Navigator all patients diagnosed with cancer. Promotes and provides quality breast care that is coordinated and navigated along an agreed care path with appropriate information available to patients while, minimizing time intervals along the full continuum of care.
Education and/or Experience
Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program or, graduate from an approved nursing program or a graduate of an accredited program in radiological technology is required.
3-5 years’ experience in nursing or breast imaging is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in nursing or radiologic technology preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Registered A.R.R.T (R.) (M) or Registered in an other breast imaging modality required.
Certification in breast navigation course within first two years is preferred.
Membership in related professional organizations is preferred.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:30am-12:30pm; 48hrs/2wks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$28.75 - $43.50 per hour
