Join us.Job Summary:As an Associate Design Engineer, you will work closely with a product group and engineering project lead to assist in the design and development of new and existing components, assemblies or systems for excavation equipment and attachments. This position performs various design activities that include design concept development utilizing 3D modeling software, basic to intermediate analysis work ranging from finite element analysis to bolted joint analysis, identify and assist in resolution of design problems, work closely with other Caterpillar teams and suppliers, and manage the development and completion of any required drawings to support the manufacturing of parts related to your project designs.What You Will Do: Create 3D models of new designs utilizing PTC Creo Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents Overseeing the efforts of drafting teams to create any manufacturing drawings related to your designs. Perform needed analysis activities to aid in development and refinement of designs. Communicate technical information to team members, other Caterpillar engineering teams and suppliersEducation Requirement:Associates’ degree within a related technical field -Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials ScienceWhat Skills You Will Have:Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in the application of engineering concepts. Proficiency in application of PTC Creo or other parametric 3D modeling and/or simulation tools
Experience with manufacturing and/or fabrication
Experience maintaining or operating heavy equipment
