To thrive in this role requires a strategic thinker with a robust background in Google Cloud technologies and architecture, tasked with leading a diverse team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence Specialists. You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable data and infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and drive innovation.This role is essential for driving forward our data capabilities and ensuring that our infrastructure supports the strategic goals of the organization. Should be able to develop healthy relationships and trust with business stakeholders and peers across Ford Pro-Tech and Ford.What you’ll be able to do:

Led and managed a mixed-skilled team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence Specialists, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.

Design and architect full-stack data solutions using Google Cloud technologies, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and integrated seamlessly.

Lead new data and infrastructure development efforts within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Spearhead new data architecture initiatives

Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, data architectures, and data modeling processes.

Collaborate with other department leads to align the analytics strategies with overall business objectives.

Ensure the implementation of best practices in data governance, data security, and data quality.

Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and machine learning techniques within the team to solve complex business problems.

Provide technical leadership in the evaluation, conceptualization, design, and deployment of major data initiatives.

Mentor team members, aiding in their technical and professional development.

The minimum requirements we seek:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, IT)

Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or Data Scientist

3+ years of experience working on cloud-based systems (ideally Google Cloud) or AWS where you utilized the understanding of the simplicity and scalability of data pipelines and interfaces.

2+ years utilizing data tools such as Python, SQL, Scala, and/or Spark.

Experience with technical migration projects, including migrating legacy systems to cloud-based solutions.

Experience working in a cross-functional, agile product team environment/analytic delivery team.

2+ years of experience in Automotive, Transportation, Digital Business, or Analytics Consulting

2+ years of experience acting as the senior technical lead helping facilitate analytical/technical discussions on solution tradeoffs for new feature implementations.

Our preferred qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, IT)

2+ years leading and managing direct reports.

Expertise in designing and implementing robust data solutions using Google Cloud technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.

Deep understanding of data management fundamentals, data storage principles, and data security best practices.

Strong background in understanding and leveraging data as it supports analytics and business semantics, enhancing decision-making and business strategies.

Think critically and discover how to leverage GCP tools to solve business problems.

Demonstrated problem formulation with the ability to take complex problems and break them down to create and implement an action plan, including a strong analytical mindset.

Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.

Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in varying areas of business and enterprise technology.

Certifications in Google Cloud Architecture, Data Engineering, or similar fields are highly advantageous.
