Materials Engineering student needed to support global product engineering and testing for Bosch Power Solutions located in Charleston, SC.  The student will work within an established engineering department specializing in product development, problem solving, materials analysis, and engineering root cause analysis of automotive fuel systems for on-road and off-road applications.  Student will report to the department Engineering Manager and will have project work directed by a Principal Engineer (experienced materials engineer).Responsibilities: Analyze sample returns and field failures for diesel Common Rail products Gain proficiency in use of digital imaging, SEM and EDX Investigate functional, design, and contamination issues on components using dimensional, surface, and material/chemical analytical equipment Coordinate with laboratories in other Bosch facilities, worldwide Evaluate test data, field trends, and component assembly data using modern “Big Data” methods Communicate component investigations and root cause analyses, in detailed technical reports.
