A Nursing Assistant provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and is essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly. Responsibilities- Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while supporting emotional and spiritual needs
- Record vital statistics, blood glucose levels, and other basic health information
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
- Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
- Prepare and clean patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipment
- Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
