Orthopaedic Surgeon

Role summary:The Surgeon is responsible for providing pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care within the multi-disciplined clinical team. Additionally, the Surgeon will provide the clinical lead within surgical facilities in support of the Iqarus Regional Medical Director. Duties and Responsibilities:· Perform surgical interventions, including damage control surgery and surgical procedures for emergency surgical cases, to deliver life, limb, and function saving medical treatment· Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, specialists, and other medical staff· Recognise and record information on medical condition and surgical risk· Stabilise and support a casualty before evacuation by air or land, in support of ER clinical team if required· Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care· Ensures that all medical records are properly kept and maintained· Provision of clinical reporting· Support clinical mentoring for staff development· Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs· Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Regional Medical Director. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
