We maintain offices and subsidiaries worldwide, including offices in Ireland, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, China, and Hong Kong, all supported by local accounting professionals.      This position is part of the finance/accounting department team at Daktronics. The finance/accounting team serves Daktronics stakeholders – employees, customers, vendors, shareholders, and community. Our work is focused on enabling Daktronics’ success by being trusted advisors, guiding or supporting company compliance and risk management efforts, being operationally excellent, and developing ourselves and the team. We are responsible for preparing accurate financial statements and providing useful financial information to various departments within Daktronics. As part of this responsibility, the accounting department assists in internal control design, subsidiary financial information, and other key business activities.    What are my responsibilities?   As a Staff Accountant you will contribute to our team by performing a variety of functions including: 

Accounts payable: timely and accurate supplier invoice and disbursement processing; sales, use, and VAT compliance relating to purchases; travel and expense system and policy administration; purchasing card system; monthly reconciliations, reporting, and analysis; and gathering audit documentation. Maintain relationships with suppliers and sourcing personnel.  

Accounts receivable: customer billing and cash application; maintenance of accounts receivable subledgers, payment system maintenance, and monthly reconciliations, reporting and analysis. Maintain relationships with sales and service teams and customers.  

Financial close processing: contribute to systems close processes, publication of consolidated financial statements, and assisting with financial statement audits.  

Project Management: assist or lead projects focused on continuous improvement in processes and operational efficiency. 

Where will I be working?  

Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central Time Zone.  

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business is preferred. You will also need demonstrated experience in the areas listed below: 

Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team. 

Willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload. 

Strong organizational skills managing multiple projects and changing priorities with accuracy. 

Strong interpersonal skills showing collaboration with others and building effective relationships. 

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  

Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking. 

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.  

Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality. 

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience in ERP or report writing software. 

Knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, business intelligence software solutions such as Reporting Services and Business Planning and Consolidations. SQL knowledge beneficial.     

Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
