Director, Estimating

Are you ready to bring your estimating expertise into the dynamic world of Natural Resources? We’re looking for a Director of Estimating to join our team in either our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney office, supporting major clients across transmission, mining, oil & gas, and clean energy. This role blends traditional estimating with strategic leadership and client relationship development, offering the opportunity to shape high-impact projects and drive excellence in project delivery. What you’ll do:  Leadership & Oversight: Lead the end-to-end estimation process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project goals. Common ways of working and common data management: Drive a common way of working across our teams, including consistent capture of data to drive decision making Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates from conceptual estimating through to first principles covering materials, labour, equipment, and overheads using industry-standard tools and first principles pricing.  Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing and scope data. Quality & Assurance: Lead internal and external estimate assurance reviews, due diligence, and maintain compliance with internal standards and procedures. Technical Expertise: Interpret complex project documentation, quantify from design information, and structure estimates, bills of quantities, and materials. Mentorship & Development: Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, fostering capability development within the team. Continuous improvement: Maintain and enhance the central estimating database and norms, while staying current with market trends and cost factors.
