Operate and maintain the sterilizer according to company policies and regulatory guidelines. Assist in the establishment of procedures and practices. Assist in product material handling, segregation and distribution.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conducts routine safety and operational checks on the sterilizer and facility. Oversees the compliance of safety requirements by visitors and non- departmental personnel.

Practices safe and efficient operation of sterilizer and related equipment, robotic palletizer, stretch wrap equipment system, internal and external conveyors, loading and unloading equipment, and material handling equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance on all department equipment for safe and efficient operations. Provides technical direction to Material Handlers for the performance of preventive maintenance and error recovery. Provides direct supervision of all contract maintenance.

Diagnoses and corrects equipment malfunction, and proceed with the timely repair to ensure minimum downtime. Coordinates support for corrective maintenance with other departments (i.e. Plant Maintenance, Engineering).

Responsible for maintaining all pertinent processing records and files such as material transfers, disposition of logs, dosimetry and biological indicator loading data and dosimetry profiles, preventative maintenance schedules, purchase requisitions, etc.

Practices established material handling and storage procedures in the pre-sterile area, and post sterile quarantine area. Performs product scheduling activities.

Proficient in operation / maintenance of all types of radiation monitoring equipment, i.e., dosimeters, survey meters.

Requisitions supplies / parts to maintain facility. Maintains inventory of critical items.

Trains and oversees material handling staff.

Assists in training of Cobalt-60 Sterilization Operators.

Performs post-sterilization inspections as required. Insures QC verification of codification labeling is correctly performed.

Maintain compliance with established government and company safety regulations, environmental, and emergency procedures and Quality System Requirements.

Performs special projects in the Sterilization department or other department as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Expectation to be able to cover vacant shifts

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and required to support the needs of the business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED

Associates or Mechatronics certificate preferred

3-5 years Manufacturing Environment experience preferred

Electrical, Mechanical, and PLC knowledge desired

Able to work a 12-hour Night shift on a 3, 2, 2, 3 schedule (12 hour Night shift differential is $1.50)

Able to train on 1st shift Mon-Fri

Position will require the successful completion of an FBI background check performed by the NRC (U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission) and reviewed by the RSO (Radiation Safety Officer). The candidate will be required to provide written consent for this background check.

False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.

Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
