Responsibilities Activity /Recreational Therapy Aide The Activity/Recreation Therapy Aide assists with all aspects of Recreation/activity therapy, a service designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, cultural, recreation, and rehabilitation needs of all patients. We are looking for a dynamic individual to assist with creating fresh and fun exciting activities for our residents! The Activity /Recreation Therapy Aide will assist the Recreational Therapist and Lead Activity Coordinator with planning and impementing therapy groups, exercise and recreation/activity interventions and design to reach treatment goals and outcomes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of recreation and therapeutic activities.

Knowledge of principles of growth and development, effective communication and cognitive motor learning.

Ability to communicate, document and report patient response and behavior.

Ability to work effectively with patients of various ages, mental competence and physical disabilities.

Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is a 64-bed Residential Treatment Center that offers quality behavioral health services to adolescent males and females aged 7-20 with psychiatric, behavioral, or conduct issues.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma Experience: Prior residential treatment psychiatric experience with adolescent children preferred. Age-Specific Competencies: Child, Adolescent, Licensure/Certification: BLS and CPI
