Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Central, G-2, HQ Section, Shaw AFB, South Carolina. Responsibilities Serves as an Intelligence operations officer in the headquarters branch of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (DCofS, G2) for United States Army – Central (USARCENT). Prepares periodic reports on the status of force management, projected manning requirements, orders status, and task tracking for inclusion in synchronization meetings and regular reports. Writes and publishes USARCENT G2 orders in conjunction with the G25, G35, and G5. Deconflicts calendar events and ensures calendar related information is disseminated at all levels. Coordinates with FORSCOM, USCENTCOM, INSCOM, and subordinate forces and intelligence organizations. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1. Managing operational training, coordinating briefings with intelligence organizations, and assists with drafting plans and orders. 2. Assess contractual correspondence and coordination of supply and service requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. This is an Intelligence Career Field position. TERM: This announcement is for a term position. Permanent employees who apply, are selected for, and ultimately accept this position will be converted to a term appointment. Term positions in DCIPS may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition after completion of two years of continuous service in this position. Position may be filled as a Term appointment Not to Exceed 2 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointment has the potential to be extended beyond six years up to eight years. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. An incentive may be authorized, if determined in the best interest of the Government.
