Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the construction sector, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Assistant Controller will provide support to the Business Controller by providing essential business and financial analysis. This role will also assist in developing and implementing processes and tools for efficient month-end reporting and will be instrumental in supporting business operations.Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and publishing of monthly reports, scorecards and other reports as needed. Collaborate closely with the Business Control, Share Service and Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting. Maintain the accuracy and completeness of accounting data and financial reports. Collaborate with Vice Presidents to understand financial results within their responsibilities. Monitor invoicing/orders received/orders on hand to help analyze business performance. Review monthly financial statements by region/business line and consolidated to understand results and provide explanations. Aid in establishing and maintaining effective internal controls. Perform monthly service variance analysis and collaborate with the VP of Operations and Business Controller to ensure accuracy and understanding for reporting to Division. Prepare ad hoc analysis as needed. Regularly review gross profit to identify and help resolve potential issues. Collaborate with senior management team to prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts. Communicate activities and work with all levels in the company. Participate in a team environment to meet goals and make improvements. Prepare necessary information for meetings as required. Act on behalf of peer group members in their absence from work when called upon to do so by either design or circumstances. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services Knowledge of Concur software Familiarity with Crystal Reports Understanding of DCAA regulations Ability to manage Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of Auditing practices Ability to handle Billing Functions Prior experience in a similar role within the Construction/Contractor industry is preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required Professional certification such as CPA is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Strong problem-solving skills High level of integrity and dependability Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
