Job Description SummaryAs the Biomedical Technician, you will respond to service calls within a hospital or healthcare system in Spartanburg, SC. Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections to support our customers’ ability to deliver healthcare.

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensure documentation of all work performed is captured.

Maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

Maintain proper care of tools and test equipment to ensure calibration and ability to deliver timely and accurate repairs/maintenance to our customers.

Ensure all work orders, vendor service reports, time and expense reports, PM activities, purchase orders and other duties are documented in an accurate and timely manner.

Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization to ensure services are provided with the highest ethical standards.

Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule. Ensure proper care of spares, tools and test equipment and ensure calibration. Maintain approved parts inventory. Manage vendor’s service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies, as instructed. Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.

Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements.

May assist more and less experienced technicians on basic and complex repairs /resolution respectively.Work as a member of local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within assigned area.When trained, share on-call / pager responsibility.

Basic Qualifications

Associates degree, Bachelor's degree, military education

OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.

2+ years of experience servicing biomedical equipment required

Experience with electronic digital circuitry and electronic and electro-mechanical devices

Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to be available after-hours and/or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.

Ability to lift/move up to 35lbs.
