Luxury Property Reporter

Job Description

The Australian Financial Review is seeking an energetic business reporter with experience and a track record as a news breaker to cover the property market, with a focus on luxury real estate.

The Financial Review is expanding and upgrading its property coverage to meet the changing needs of readers. We are a digital first publication with a strong print product and an expanding events business.

Their reporting will range across prestige homes, trophy property transactions and the personalities involved. As well, the reporter will have an understanding of financial and economic matters and understand how to access the data and statistics that explain how the market is performing.

They will possess a thorough knowledge of the main players in the industry and a wide base of contacts. They should be a compelling writer who is able to deliver clear lively news and feature stories.

The successful candidate will be joining a collegial team of reporters and editors and will be expected to collaborate with other reporters and editors regularly. High performers can expect to see career advancement. They will report to the property editor, and work for other sections and other editors from time to time.

The role is a permanent full time role ideally based in the Sydney newsroom.

Some weekend work will be required.
