The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. Candidates who are creative team players with a talent for challenging the status quo, coming up with unique ideas, negotiating and influencing will be preferred for this position. Based in the Greer, South Carolina area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position.Your responsibilities

Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

CPA/MBA preferred

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

Profit Loss experience required

Analyze Financial Statements experience

Bank Account Reconciliation experience

Great attention to detail

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
