APS-3: Electronics Technician I, Maintenance - DeployableDescriptionThis Emergency Essential (EE) position is in the Maintenance Department for the APS-3 program, located on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station.The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.Specific Duties:This position is to work as an Electronics Technician in a Communications and Electronics Maintenance Shop, with primary focus on performing Preventative Maintenance on combat and tactical communications, communication support, mine detecting, and power distribution equipment stocked in the Army Prepositioned Warstock Program. The Electronics Tech-I conducts equipment inventories, inspections, and function tests, identifies faults, and assists Electronic Tech II in maintenance actions.Work conditions are generally in a government owned facility equipped with work stations appropriate for electronics maintenance. Occasional lifting of 35 LBS, moderate walking, standing, and sitting is expected with this position.This position is a Deployable Position:Must meet deployment qualifications and maintain deployable statusUpon notification from the government, deploys to support issuing or receipt of equipmentMust be capable to deploy to a contingency theater of operations as determined by the US Government within five days of noticeMust be capable of getting a minimum of a SECRET security clearanceMust meet government specified requirements to be deployable: including annual health screenings, training requirements, and passportQualificationsQualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Technical training in Electronics Maintenance
2 years related experience
Skilled in using of various Microsoft Office programs, basic skills in Excel
Possess valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License
Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position
US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain local base access
Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.
Prior training and experience in a relevant Military Occupation is a plus
Meet government specified requirements to be deployable, including annual health screenings, training requirements, and passport
