Company :enGenJob Description :JOB SUMMARYThe Mainframe Senior Infrastructure Engineer Position will require a good understanding of the z/OS operating system environment, installation processes, system utilities, and diagnostic procedures. The expectation is the individual will be lead in the planning and research of system operating system installations and working through system diagnostics. Additional requirements are to document departmental policies, as well as standards and procedures, which will be used for a consistent set of framework processes.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Learn the aspects of Highmark’s complex Sysplex Environment.

Experience installing Mainframe Operating Systems.

Learn the escalation of issues and make recommendations to resolve issues, to the appropriate audience.

Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems impacting IT Infrastructure.

Coordinate and complete project tasks on time, within budget and in scope of IT Infrastructure requirements.

Assure compliance to required standards, procedures, guidelines and processes.

Thorough understanding of SMP/e, SMF Records, good understanding of Unix System Services, an understanding of coupling facility, strong understanding of IBM Utilities

Use performance tools to identify metrics for diagnostics and performance improvements.

Conduct change inspections; determine associated risks and readiness for implementation.

Cross Train less senior staff members.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required

EXPERIENCERequired

3-5 years of experience in Information Technology
