Job ResponsibilitiesThis vacancy is only open to Internal Agency applicants!Perform required maintenance in the preservation, renovation, and painting of the Museum's displays, exhibits, and tour routes.Employee will be required to perform maintenance, preservation, and renovation work on aircraft, tour routes and all exhibits located anywhere on the property of Patriots Point, to include but not limited to ships, buildings, etc.Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies required to accomplish assigned work. Advises supervisor, in a timely manner, when additional supplies are needed. Ensures that all work is properly accomplished with the agency's policies for safety, and the handling and storage of hazardous and flammable materials.Employee may be required to work after normal working hours, on weekends, holidays, emergencies, and or special events. Employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned to accomplish the mission of the Agency. Employee is in a position designated as an "essential position", therefore, employee may be required to stay onboard USS Yorktown as part of an emergency crew during named storms to provide support during the storm, to conduct post-disaster damage assessment, and to take initial recovery actions following the storm.Minimum and Additional RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license.5+ years relevant journeyman level experience or completed trades school in aircraft maintenance, sheet metal work experience, and compressed air gun painting experience. Must have the ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Must have the ability to communicate effectively.Will work the majority of the time without direct on-site supervision.Position requires rigorous physical activity. Must be capable of climbing vertical ladders, lifting, and walking long distances in a work day. Must be motivated to perform high-quality work.
